My name is Mike Singels and I love to fly RC helicopters! I started flying an American RC Mantis back in 1982. It didn’t have a gyro or collective pitch and I used a K&B 40 glow engine to power it. It was a challenge to fly, but man it was fun! It has been wonderful to watch the hobby progress to where it is today and to help so many friends learn to successfully build and fly their RC helicopters. My passion for the hobby and desire to help others has led to a wonderful friendship with my business partner Jason Strunk who is now like a brother to me.
Like Jason, I have served my country proudly in the United States Air Force. I served the majority of my career as a flight engineer on C-5s and KC-10s and logged over 4000 flight hours. I retired from the Air Force in October of 2000 after completing 11 years of active duty and 10 years in the Air Force Reserves. In 1993, I became a police officer with the Colorado Springs Police Department and continue to serve my community in this capacity.
It is my sincere hope that you will let me serve you too by providing outstanding customer service and satisfaction. I look forward to the growth and expansion of Colorado Heli and our service to you.

My name is Jason Strunk, and I am an owner of Colorado Heli. I have a very diverse background, but I am most proud of my 15 yr military service record with both the Army (medic, 9 years), and the Air Force (C-130 loadmaster, 6 years). Over the years, I have had a love affair with aviation, but there was something about RC helis that really got my attention. My first helicopter was purchased in early 2006--an Esky Honeybee King.
It didn’t last long (about 45 seconds), but I was hooked. I didn’t really start to learn about RC helicopters until Jan 2007. I was working at a local hobby shop when I met fellow helicopter enthusiast and mentor, Mike Singels. Our mutual love of the hobby fostered a strong friendship. As we flew together, my ability to fly, and knowledge of the hobby grew exponentially. As my collection of helis grew, I found myself in need of a dedicated local shop.
So, in September of 2007, Mike and I decided to start our own company to meet the growing needs of the RC helicopter community in our hometown of Colorado Springs and throughout the state. I look forward to helping all of you, our customers, as much as we can. Thank you for your support.
